Ernst & Young February Report on Renewables puts Morocco at Rank 30th Worldwide, But does it make Sense ?

According to Ernst & Young, Germany has a higher overall solar index than Morocco, 51 to 49. Now if we factor that a solar panel installed in Morocco is 8 times more efficient than the same panel in Germany, we find out that Ernst & Young's study doesn't make sense as far as solar is concerned. Thats for starters.

All it would take for Morocco to grow a PV capacity equal to that of Germany is to install a fraction of it.

The sooner everyone realizes that its not the ability to grow capacity that is critical, but the metrics that you obtain for the same investment in diverse parts of the world, the better our ranking will appreciate. Growing capacity here in Morocco that is several times more efficient than in Germany means we can do more with less.

It can be a win win situation for everyone, this solar business, especially more so for Morocco in regard of its geostrategic position. Our ranking has the potential to appreciate by at least 10 to 15 points in the coming decade.
