Gleaned from LeMatin.ma, Morocco's full solar energy potential would be 20 GW. That is huge, still my estimate is that it is even more important then that.
Project Genesis as it stands aims at producing 12 GW, 60% of the potential. Be we could go all the way, towards achieving maximum capacity. It is not a matter of if, but when.
As of now, in 2008 Morocco has sold 1.710 GW for 16 Billions MAD , thus the theorical full export potential if we export 20 GW of renewable energy is 187 Billion MAD, roughly 20 Billion Euros.
It would translate in a 18.1% increase in GDP. That is solar alone, if we pitch in wind energy, the increase in GDP could reach 30%.
