Twenty four CEN-SAD countries discuss energy strategy in Morocco

APA-Rabat (Morocco) The 4th meeting of the ministers of energy and mines of the member countries of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) opened Wednesday in Morocco with the participation of 24 countries who will try to establish their common energy strategy.

The Community experts will consider until Thursday the strategic issues to be submitted to ministers who will meet Friday and Saturday to adopt a platform of cooperation against the backdrop of the development of energy infrastructure and mining and regional strengthening partnerships between member countries.

The promotion of economic and technical cooperation particularly in areas of high strategic energy mining is one of the main concerns of the Rabat meeting, organizers said to APA.

The meeting should end with some recommendations, particularly in the areas of production and distribution of energy and mineral resources.

Rabat presents the meeting as "strong and sincere commitment of the Kingdom for the priority of strengthening inter-African cooperation, particularly between the member countries of CEN-SAD.

//personal notes : Of particular interest is the integration of our power grid with our southern neighbors, after all Project Genesis can also serve to cover the needs of sub Saharan Africa as well as the needs of our northern neighbors.

It would be a tremendous leap forward for the development of sub Saharan countries, a policy that we have followed for a long while now.
