Morocco's projected energy cost forecast

This is a crude forecast calculated with a median 13.5 point yearly growth rate. Based on it the bill will amount to 233 billion MAD by 2020. Morroco's 2008 budget of 71 billion MAD will have doubled by 2014.

2008 Energy budget figures :

6,5 billion MAD for coal
2,6 billion MAD for electricity imports

Theses can be suppressed, thus freeing roughly 9 billion MAD for other posts, plus the heavy fuel costs for the power stations.

Fuel and derivatives imports amount to a staggering 61 billion MAD, there's no way to reduce them for the time being since theses are needed by various industries as well as for servicing gas stations. The electric car could help alleviate this burden but the technology maturity (benefits vs costs) isnt up to par there yet.
